 | Notes: | In his generation, Matthys Johannes is the most senior male descendant of the 1710-1712 immigrant Pieter Booyens. His line of descendants will be among the very small fraction of the Booyens family of South Africa to remain in the De Rust-Willowmore area of the South Cape, where the family patriarch, Mattheus, is settled by the very early 19th century. The family will stay rooted to the farm Rietvley near De Rust until deep into the 20th century, and will still commemorate their departed in the local farm cemetery in the 21st century. Matthys' line of the family may be viewed as "manning the headquarters" of the family Booyens. |

Notes: Anna was confirmed in the Oudtshoorn Dutch Reformed Church in 12 January 1855 [#1]. She also appears in Oudtshoorn on 25 March 1883 as witness [#2] to the baptism of Pieter Johannes, son of her brother Pieter Johannes Booyens and his wife Gezina Botha. At this time, she is in the company of Philip Christoffel Botha. At this point, we lose track of Anna and never hear or read of her again. No Death Notice has been found for this lady.

Notes: Aletta is confirmed in the Dutch Reformed Church of Oudtshoorn on 25 December 1863. [#1]. Her middle name comes from her death notice and the Oudtshoorn DRC membership register. The other two come from her baptism in the same church. SA Genealogies by Heese swops the two outer names around.
On 25 March 1883 she appears as witness to the Oudtshoorn Dutch Reformed Church baptism of Pieter Johannes, son of her eldest brother Pieter Johannes [#2]. She appears at the baptism in the company of Philip Christoffel Botha.
